Yoruba actress Omotunde Ogundimu critically ill, in need of financial help

Popular Yoruba Actress, Omotunde Ogundimu, who has been off the movie scene for a while now, is presently battling with fibroid.

According to reports, the mother of three needs about N500,000 to undergo surgery to have the fibroid removed.

Recounting how the problem started, Omotunde told Nigeria Films thus:

“I noticed it last year before my husband passed away. Anytime we had intercourse, I would always bleed. I took it for something else, so I didn’t really pay attention to it. But when he became sick and we couldn’t have intercourse any more, it (the bleeding) stopped. Then, I didn’t have time to study it at that period too.

“But what I noticed is that my menstrual circle changed, so I would menstruate twice in a month with very heavy flow. So, at that time, I just felt it was one of the signs of menopause because I am way above 40. But last year, I had to go to the hospital to complain and the doctor said I had fibroid, even before the tests and scan were conducted. When the scan was done, it was discovered that the fibroid was fully grown in my womb,” she explained.

Soliciting for help, the Actress admitted that she doesn’t have that kind of money because she has been single-handedly taking care of her three children who have been in school since the demise of her husband.

Iyanya, comedian Wale Gates wade into the Wizkid-Davido war

Pop star, Iyanya Mbuk and comedian, Wale Gate have waded into the ongoing ‘social media war’ between singers,Wizkid and Davido.

The squabble between the two music stars started few days back with what looked like a harmless tweet from Wizkid followed with a cold and not-so friendly tweet from Davido.

Although, the duo did not mention their names in the tweet, fans are aware that they are at loggerheads, and are already making their meals out of the quarrel that is best described as cold war.

Responding to the issue, the Kukere crooner took to his Instagram page hours ago and wrote:

“Stop talking!!! Let’s release more MUSIC!!! Let’s entertain Our Fans!!! Stop The Hate!!! My Prayer is that we ALL make it”

Comedian, Wale Gate, also tweeted “Sometimes you wish these artistes learn a little from the past, open beef between artistes is one of the fastest ways to kill a flourishing career. The problem with beef is that it starts to affect the type of music you make, from making feel good happy music, you start writing ‘war’ songs. I have been around long enough to know it is pointless and an unnecessary distraction, only the media gains, not even your fans”

Nigerians blasts El Rufai despite son’s death

Rather than commiserate with former minister, Nasir El Rufai over the loss of one of his sons, who died in a car crash in the early hours of Tuesday, some Nigerians have taken to his facebook page to condemn and mock him.

The former minister, known for always antagonizing the federal government, broke the sad news in a statement posted on his Facebook page, saying “From Allah, we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son, Hamza El-Rufai who died this morning in a motor accident in Abuja”.

Of the 30, 197 comments that the facebook post generated, about seventy percent of them were harsh and condemning.

Commenting on the post, some followers condemned El Rufai for posting such a message on facebook rather than mourning his son.

Some others mocked him and sarcastically queried him for not blaming President Goodluck Jonathan for the accident.

One Miss Ezenma wrote “Are you serious? You have the mind to come online to “post” after losing your son this very morning in an accident when you should be mourning and be inconsolable”.

Another one commented on the page saying “This man has lost it, your son died this morning and he’s on the internet again, waiting for him to accuse GEJ of being responsible as usual. RIP young Hamza, May your soul RIP”.

Still criticizing the minister, a facebook follower George said “RIP. Sentiments aside, it’s high time you slow down on how you attack national issues. I used to be his fan but he decided to rubbish his hard earned reputation for the sake of politics. When a man, rather than spend his life meaningfully, engages in silly tweeting all over the place, these are the kind of reminders he gets to tell him to wake up. I pity his kids dying one by one with no fatherly spiritual protection. I guess he has them so many their death doesn’t take him away from the internet. Do forgive my frankness”.

Several other Nigerians, however, sent in their condolence messages and prayed for the dead boy’s soul.

One Sammy Francis wrote “I can’t believe some people are rejoicing over the death of a human. Let me believe you didn’t read properly before commenting but he didn’t say he lost his dog or chicken. Even the whites cry for their dogs! The GEJ you are fighting for wrongly, will visit or call El-Rufai and do the necessary things, but you will be here fighting ignorantly. I smell wizards in the church and witches in christendom because the Bible never taught us to rejoice over the death of a man, only witchcraft or wizandry can do this. if God says Jonathan will rule in 2015 then so be it. So why start fighting a fight that is anti-christ? To you sir El-Rufai, the God of your belief will strengthen you. God knows best”.

Another follower, Saliu Kolawole said “How recklessly thoughtless some Nigerians can get! You coldly mocked a fellow human being over a worst calamity that can befall any parent. You people are no better than those beasts in Sambisa Forest. Anyway, as we Yoruba say, you see another’s misfortune now but you don’t know what fate has in stock for you tomorrow. And from experience, nothing anyone says can soften these stone hearted beasts. Nasir has done the best thing through his instant acknowledgement of God’s ownership of all souls and His sole right to claim them. May God give him the fortitude to bear this great loss. May God also make paradise the eternal abode for the departed. Amen”.

Until his death, Hamza was a student of Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai and was billed to graduate in 2015.

It’s official! Everton sign Lukaku from Chelsea for £28m

Romelu Lukaku has returned to Everton, this time on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

The Belgium striker posted a picture of himself on his way to Merseyside today, where he has now signed a five-year deal with the Toffees, after both clubs agreed a fee around £28m - a new club record for Everton, who previously paid £15m for Marouane Fellaini.

Lukaku scored 15 times in the Premier League last season on loan at Goodison Park and Roberto Martinez has never hidden his desire to bring back the 21-year-old.

Jose Mourinho has decided to let the striker leave, after he brought in Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid and Didier Drogba on a one-year deal.
