The Shield actor Michael Jace arrested for allegedly murdering wife April Jace in front of their two young sons

Police rushed to the home after Jace allegedly called 911 and said “I shot my wife,” reports TMZ. The couple’s two children, both boys under the age of 10, witnessed the shooting and were extremely upset said police. April Jace, 40, also had a third child from a previous relationship. The distraught boys reportedly spent four hours at a police station before child services transferred them to the care of a relative
“They were not physically hurt, but obviously their emotions are running high,” detective Sal LaBarbera told KTLA. “It’s just so very unfortunate that a domestic incident like this occurs, we have two young children that lost their mom and now their dad is in jail, most likely will be in prison for this,” he said. April Jace and her sons had returned home shortly before the shooting, reports the LA Times. Cops responding to Jace’s 911 call arrived at the family’s Hyde Park, Los Angeles mansion about 8.30pm local time, where they found April Jace dead inside from with multiple gunshot wounds.
Jace was arrested at the scene and taken into custody, where he will be charged with murder. There appeared to be no record of previous domestic violence incidents, with no police calls from the home or reports from neighbours, said Mr LaBarbera. Jace, 51, is best known for his role as LAPD officer Julien Lowe in dark police drama The Shield, which aired from 2002-2008. He also appeared in Forrest Gump, Boogie Nights and Planet of the Apes. The couple had been married for ten years. Jace was previously married to Jennifer Bitterman but they divorced in 2002.
